Always thought it would be a great idea to have video games played in 3D (3 Dimensional)? But thought that would bring us to Virtual Reality games, and wouldn't happen for a long time. Well, think again! Sony has decided to tease us with some footage of what gaming would look like if the PlayStation 3 had 3D graphics. They stated that they would not release any specifications of how it would look, but instead gave us a short clip on a young gentleman playing the PS3 with some odd looking glasses. The glasses aren't too terribly bad, they are definitely better looking then the traditional Blue and Red plastic shades worn in most movie theatres. It is definately a good marketing plan because it is leaving everyone with a small taste, but has left us wanting more! This could either be a great improvement for the future of gaming, or the dreaded downfall! Only the future will allow us to see more into this interesting concept!
That would be cool, however I wonder how it would work right now with our current level of technology. I would be more interested in a way to send visual information straight into our optic nerves, however I am sure that is quite a long time away, maybe 50+ years. Still, this is a step towards VR. To bad for me, I cannot use 3D glasses due to a lazy eye, but it will be nice for all those who can use it.
